had a great start for 2015, with eight successful Smart applications, which have
raised nearly £2m of funding for UK SMEs (Small or Medium Enterprises).
These SMEs have included an ICT retail service, an energy demand
process, anti-piracy software for online content and a product that controls tools within a 3D
space by using a novel multi-axis controller.
Smart funding does not require any loss of equity or IP and will
help these SMEs to bridge the ‘valley of death’ that often affects SMEs
trying to get their ideas from development stage to the market.
